WELCOME RAY SCHUMACHER
Welcome Coach Ray Schumacher to Perfect Balance

Ray comes to Perfect Balance from Amherst, New Hampshire, where he was both the Gymnastics Team Director and Head Girl’s team coach. Ray worked for Gymnastics Village for 14 years, and has developed state, regional, and national competitors during that time period. In the USA gymnastics program, Ray has coached 11 Level 9 Eastern National Championship qualifiers since 1998, and 14 level 10 J.O. National Championship qualifiers since 1997.
Ray is a native of Louisville, Ohio, and graduated from Kent State University in 1985 with a Master’s of Arts degree in Sports Administration. Ray’s wife Ann is a Massillon native, and they have two daughters, Briana, and Rachel,.
Many of Ray’s athletes have gone on to compete in athletics at the college level, but not limited to gymnastics. Where three gymnasts have earned college scholarships in gymnastics, many others have used the discipline and skills learned in gymnastics to go into other sports at the High school and college levels. Some of the sports include the obvious transition into diving and running, but some of these athletes excelled at field hockey, shot put, triple jump, crew, and hurdling. One of these unique crossover athletes even represented the USA in the 2000 Olympics in Greece, in the shot put!!!
Ray is coming on board at Perfect Balance as the Gymnastics Program Director. Please welcome Ray to our Perfect Balance family.
